Company

A company is your business in Cadence. It has its own people, bots, chats and usage, kept fully separate from every other company. One person can belong to several companies with one sign-in. See Companies and people.

Space

A space is an area inside a company with its own bots, routines, memory and settings. Every company starts with one. Add more to keep work apart. See Spaces.

Bot

A bot is an AI teammate. It has instructions, instruction files, memory, a model and a computer. You talk to it in its chat; it can also talk to customers through channels and to other bots. See Bots.

Run

A run is one stretch of work by a bot. Your message starts a run; so does a routine, a webhook or a message from a channel. During a run the bot reads its instructions, files and memory, then thinks and uses tools until it is done or needs you. You can send more messages to steer a run, or stop it.

Tool

A tool is something a bot can do: browse a page, run a command, save a memory, send a message, create a routine. Bots come with built-in tools, and integrations add more.

Approval

An approval is a pause where a bot asks a person before a tool call that matters, such as sending an email from a connected app. You choose what needs asking and what is always allowed. See Approvals.

Routine

A routine is a saved instruction a bot runs by itself, on a schedule, on a webhook, on a message, or when something changes. See Routines.
