Connect apps so bots can work in them: read email, update a spreadsheet, check a calendar, create a ticket.

Connect an app

  1. Click Connect apps at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. Under Search apps, find the app and click Add.
  3. Sign in to the app and allow access.
You can connect more than one account of the same app with Add another, and remove one with Uninstall. Bots can also offer to connect an app when they need it. A card appears in the chat; click it to connect.
The app list needs a managed catalog on the server. On a self-hosted server without one, you see “No managed app catalog is configured on this deployment.” You can still add MCP servers.

Add an MCP server

Any tool that speaks the Model Context Protocol can be added:
  1. In Connect apps, choose Add MCP server (or Browse MCP servers).
  2. Enter a Server name and Server URL.
  3. If the server needs sign-in, open Advanced for a token, header or OAuth settings, then click Connect OAuth.
  4. Click Test connection to check it lists its tools.
  5. Under Agents, choose which bots may use it.
You can also add an OpenAPI or GraphQL API.

Approvals for app actions

Reading from an app happens straight away. Changing something, like sending an email, waits for approval unless you allowed it.
